Any programs to delete useless file? (like housekeeping)

Are there any? I'm using SeleQ, but couldn't find the option to delete useless files.

By that, I mean are there any program for the 7650 which will search for useless files and delete them? Sort of like registry cleaner for Windows?

I got my 7650 second hand from someone. And the phone has 1601kb occupied even though there isn't anything installed on it. Calendar entries are empty, contacts occupy only 48kb, and messages 4kb. Where did the 1MB go?

in eFileManager there is a function called "clean" or sumfink like dat, ive never used it but i think it cleans out the directory or sometink.

Err... "cleans out the directory"? Isn't that the same as wiping out all the contents in a directory? :-?

there could be programs installed on it but u mite think they come with the phone as standard.

well its kinda of strange that they put in a clean function when u can already wipe the folders/files with the delete function.

btw what i meant by cleaning was like wiping out the files that arnt needed

You should backup your contacts and do a hard reset.
eFileman does have that cleanup, but i dont know how good it is in cleaning.
It wont clean up files that are leftovers from installs, just temps, i think.

So I recommend hard reset. read more info about it in FAQ.

Nope, I've read the manual and all the programs on it are explained on the user guide. There was only 2 games on it. Snake EX and Pixmix. Nothing was in the Apps section. Might it be wise to do a master reset on it? (I don't mind installing all those programs again (I've only Space Doubler and SeleQ as programs, and TriplePop as game).

What is the code to do a master reset?

Through normal use does the 7650 actually consume more memory? As in if I have use, uninstall, install etc... for about 3 months, and say after 3 months its standerd software + one or two small programs, would I only have sumat like a meg free

read about hard reset here, the FAQ

And yes, almost all installed programs leave something behind when removed.
So a hard reset is needed sometimes to clean up. Or a trip to NSC, or both 😃

you should reset your phone by entering *#7370#. then you have nothing "unnecessary" in phone's memory. thats my suggestion. :bday:

Make sure that you have the phone's charger plugged in or really full memory.

You will also need a lock code.

I personaly wouldn't choose this option, but it's your phone, if you can back everything up then no harm done I suppose.

Done and reset it. 😃 Gained back about 200kb.

The reset thing really scared me. After I typed the code, the word NOKIA just appear. Keyboard no response. Press power off key also no response. I thought my phone had died.

HARD RESET QUESTION:

1. If the phone came locked to a certain network does it need to be re-unlocked again?

2. Whats the lock code?

My guess is,network locked devices are locked by operator tweaked firmware and not some kind of a code (Thoough i've never seen network locked device before).

The default lock code on the 7650 is 12345.Yous should change it,if you havent allready.
Read the manual.

Like i said,i've never seen a network loced device. You should unlock it if you want to change operator,or if its locked to one of those freak networks that criple your phone by disabling bluetooth and infrared.
Sometimes its cool to have a network locked device,Vodafone, they have the extra red theme 😃
