...well to me they did anyway. Just recently exchanged a bricked v3 and got back a working n80 with v4.0623.0.41 dated 26/07/06.
God knows what the holdup with Vodafone rolling it out fully but it's nice to have a phone that seems to (after 48 hours testing) work properly.
Very interesting.
Prompted by your message, I thought I'd try the Noika Software updated again. And - hey, there's an update available for UK Voda N80!!!! At last.
The update is in progress - blimey it's slow - so I don't know what version I'll end up with, or if I'll end up with a brick or not.
Oh... the tension... 😮

updated my vodafone uk N80 this weekend with no problems😊. About time Vodafone!
At b***y last. Here's what I've got...
V 4.0623.0.41
26-07-2006
MR-92
Nokia N80 (42.03)
No real problems so far, except it looks like I'll have to re-install some of my own applications (profi mail, Lumisoft London A-Z, Salling Clicker etc etc) but that shouldn't be an issue.
I notice that i can now zoom into gallery photographs at 100% without getting the out-of-memory issue.
So far so good!

now that you have updated your vodafone to new firmware what have you noticed, whats the difference ?
i have firmware
v 3.0614.0.3
11-04-2006
RM-92
nokia N80 (42.02)
the thing is, my n80 has never given me any problems, not like the ones i hear here in the forums, i bought mine for cash, no logo nothing, as a PAYG.
it lets me zoom on pictures to 100%, memory card 2gig
so do i need a update, or is a update for people who have minor or major problems. i dont want to update the phone incase it turns into a brick, i paid alot of money, and not on a contract.
has it installed any new functions, programs

If your phone is working fine for you then dont upgrade, as the saying goes if it aint broke...dont fix it..
The major improvement for me was saving usernames and passwords when I am browsing the net, I hate keep typing the same thing everytime I visit a site that requires login.
I have noteced that the wifi is not as good with V4 firmware as it was with V3, and so have a couple other people here
Improvements I have noticed since v4 upgrade:
- I can transfer files to my iBook via Bluetooth (albeit rather slowly - but better than nothing);
- I have yet not seen the dreaded "out of memory message" at all yet, which used to plague me when using the Web browser or the gallery;
- I can now to a firmware update from the Device Manager application.
Problems since the v4 upgrade:
- I think I have to reboot the device a little more often - but to be honest this diadvantage is outweighed by the advantage.

EDIT: You also get a virus checker - not that I can be bothered with it for now.
