Changing Names

I think you can do this only when the app is created, because I also wanted to do this and tried several ways, including with hex editors - nothing worked. Maybe someone with some greater experience can help us. We talk about the name which appears in the menu.

Did you try with renaming the application's .app, .aif, .rsc file names? I worked me for some of the 2.x applications. 😉

you can change in menu only, example:

changing MESSAGING name:

<<SORRY FOR MY POOR ENGLISH>>

1-make sure MESSAGING is FIRST icon of menu (upper-left icon)
2-whit any file manager such as FEXPLORER, PROFIMAIL, FILEMAN.. rename ANY application(dont rename app which you change the name) file/folder in E

or C drive...
3-now, you might be fast, go to MENU, highlight ANY FOLDER in menu, press option (popup menu open), and wait some seconds (it depends of size/used

size from you card). do not remove your eye from screen 😊 and you see the cursor changed of folder highlighted from 1st icon from menu (MESSAGING ,in example), only a portion of cursor can be viewed because OPTIONS popup menu is over "MENU".
4-rename action is only for menu state change, with remane, the renamed application is hidden from menu, which make the cursor moves to 1st icon.
5-now, you have the OPTIONS POPUP MENU opened in 1st application from menu, and for your surprise, "RENAME" is available!!
6-rename this. 😊
7-repeat operation for each application you like to rename.
