Is it really worth updating N73 firmware at the moment?

From what I've heard people are loosing applications, having to void their warranties etc. I know you can change the product code (or whatever it is) back to the original, but to be honest, while I want the latest firmware, I'd rather mess around with it as little as possible.

Is it woth the hassle?

I did the upgrade a couple of days ago, and have to say, it was the best thing to do. My N73 was on Orange, and since the firmware and de-branding, the phone runs much much quicker, I would say 2-3 times quicker ...... just generally moving through the menus.

Also, the apps that are now available, such as the standby screen is much better. I wanted to see today and upcoming appointments on the today screen, and now I can rather than just showing a number next to the side bar.

With regard to the warranty ..... you could always play the innocent, if you have put the product code back ... and say that is how it was.

So in conclusion, I was a bit worried about doing it, but am glad I did it.

you changed the product code right Albie ? I have an Orange N73 and it says no product upgrades

yes, I've also experienced better performance after the upgrade. Gallery is a lot faster, although I have a problem when zooming from 50% to 100%, it doesn't zoom, and after trying to zoom I cant even pan anymore... Just a little bug I noticed. Other than that, I am very happy with the new FW
