which pins are audio out?

Hi.

Im using the Nokia car holder for E61, and it works great. I have made a few modifications, like solding a powercoord directly on the power pins, inside the holder to make it more integrated with my car.

Anyway...

I want to connect the audio from the phone to my AUX in. Basically, I want to be able to play my MP3s over the car sterio. Im planning to buy a Nokia headset adapter (AD46), and integrate it somehow. :con?

...Now to the questions:

Do I really need an adapter? Is there any kind of electronics in the AD46 adapter or simply a phone connector in one end and a audio plug in the other?

Maybe I can simply connect some of the pins on the car holder connector to the AUX directly? 🙄

Anyone knows which pins on the phones connector to use?

thanks

I'm not at all a specialist but i think that Nokia's pop-port has 2 audio pins for stereo sound output and that the adapter simply that, an adaptor without any knid of electronics inside. Nokia's pop-port is proprietary and they haven't published its specs but Google will find unofficial schematics with the purpose of each pin detailed.

In fact, when i looked at that a few months ago, i had even found a tutorial to build your own pop-port to 3.5mm audio jack adapter.

I dont know the exact answer neither. But for looking to Audio Headsets, there is already an indication...
