sorry for being a n00b on N80's but i don't seem to be able to change message tones to a download track i have inserted on my memory card. is it me being a n00b if not how do i work around this.

thanks in advance😉

Hmm... have you gone to Profiles > profile name > personalise > message alert tone?

On mine that shows me a list of every media file on the phone and memory card, including the soundtrack of video files.

When i look in the message alert in general profile i only see the default .aac files.

its strange as on my memory card i have 8 full albums and variouse mp3 ringtones.

I seem to remember on previous models that in order to show on the list the files had to be in the Digital Sounds folder. Obviously not all mine are or I wouldn't have the option to use soundtracks but you may as well give it a go.

The link above tells you how to do it. You have to use nokia PC suite and drop ur new message tone into the folder mentioned. ( c and E being folders on ur phone not ur pc hard drive)

Make sure your desired mp3's are stored in C:\Data\Sounds\Digital or in E:\Sounds\Digital

Then when you go to Menu > Tools > Clock > Settings or Menu > Tools > Profiles you should see the relevant mp3 files appear in the list for selection.
