Look Outside or Look Online - Is It Raining?

Short of 'look outside', Handy Weather on UIQ 3 devices is about as good a weather forecasting system as money can buy. Steve reviews (well, ehrm, writes some words about) it and why he thinks it's one of the nicest pieces of software out there.

I fully agree with you, Steve, this is certainly one of the finest pieces of software ever written (though I did test the S60 3rd Edition version, which - even better than the UIQ version - features a nice screensaver mode).

My only complaint so far is that it stopped working all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago, and despite a couple of suggestions from the tech support guys, I've been unable to download weather updates since that time. No update, neither via GPRS (all the other internet apps work fine on my E61) nor via WiFi (though Nokia Podcast applications works fine with that access point). Strange, because even a hard reset followed by Handy Weather installation before restoring anything else didn't fix it. And a big disappointment to be deprived of such a nice utility for no apparent reason after purchasing it and using it regularly for a couple of months...

But to anyone else reading this, don't walk, run and purchase this application if you ever need some weather info on your Symbian smartphone!

Euroclie, have you tried using a SIM card from another network? I'm not suggesting you change networks, but it would let you see if there is a problem with your network.
