Sorry, another Upgrade Question

13 replies · 3,055 views · Started 21 November 2006

Hey Folks.

Finally going to give this a go and flash my Voda n73.

My Code: 0541044
F/W Version: 2.0628.0.0.1
Nokia N73 (34.02)

I've got NSS/NSU/etc installed.

Just wanted to know what's next (I believe I need a Euro2 code to put in there?)

Thanks in advance.
Matt

You only need the supplied cable, CA-53. Connect both, PC and N73 on PCSuite mode, and after that NSU do all on auto mode... but a locked device may not have new firmware:frown:

nj7

I've done that, and naturally it says there are no updates. I was under the impression I had to chance the product code to another one, then use nemisis or something to flash the phone and get de-branded Nokia software on the phone.

However, having seen other's posts about Voda, this might not be do-able.

Thanks
Matt

Its normal. The firmware for locked devices depends more from operator then from Nokia itself. IS like that:frown:

I tried to upgrade the firmware on mine last night, it told me there was no updates available...its on o2 - As its branded does that mean ill not be able to update?

The locked devices can be upgraded, but the upgrade depends more from Network Operator then from Nokia. Because inside a unlocked firmware, the operator wants to put their stuff.

Cool, whats the best way i go about doing it then?

NSU is a good way. Because if that update is not available there, is not available also on Nokia Service. Or contact your operator, but they should send You to Nokia Service anyway.

i was under the impression tht if u changed the product code with nss then you could update to the latest sim free firmware or sumfing lyk tht

NSU dont change the product code... just do the firware upgrade, nothing more.

Read the other posts and choose a product code. If you're english speaking then follow the instructions. I believe it's quite easy to get codes for any language set though.
