here's what i do: converst my mp3s to wave with sound forge (or is that sonic foundry), make some cuts there, and then move them to sound recorder to resample and some little tweeking. any better way of doing it so i get a smaller wav size?
i was actually going to share a couple but the file (zipped even) was too big to attach.

my waves are are between 170 til 320 Kb. well it depends on how long the song is. i'm doing the same thing J2theIZZO does ( you know 16'000 Khz, 8bit, Mono ) but try to use 12'000 Khz, 8Bit, Mono and you will see! it will still be the same quality but not that big anymore!!
