Orange N73 - Debradning / Versions — Nokia N71, Nokia N73 and Nokia N75

Hi all,

Well, Im a newbie, recently got an Orange N73 phone, and have searched through your site here looking for answers. Only had the phone for 3 days and have several questions :-

1) Phone seems to connect to the Orange internet. I then disconnect, but the phone connects to the orange net after a reboot ? Not sure if I pay for this connection I would love to stop this. Reading this site, seems the best way is to debrand the phone.

2) Answerphone spool remains on all the time. If I switch on / off, then I get a "You have a message" .

3) How do you reband these phones ? As its an orange, I've read that you need to change the product code, then upgrade it using the nokia upgrade tool. So

a) How do I see what version Im currently running on ? Is this in settings ?

b) Where can I down load the tool to alter the product code ? What ever it is, do I need to reset it to :-

USE PRODUCT CODE EURO1 (English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese)

c) Once Ive altered the product code, then I run the nokia firemware upgrader ?

d) Re-apply the original orange code ?

So, can anyone point me in the direction of the links to the downloader tools / upgrade tools ?

4) Im looking for Handylock and Hand Alarm ?? My old phone had the ability to set the alarm for all the days of thw week. Also, I used to have a keypad lock, not this new enter a code lock. Therefore Ive read I need to down load the handylock and alarm sis. Any licks ?

Does anyone know where the Phoenix software is available? I can't get the "free" download to change the product code at the place everyone refers to.

Search for nemesis service suite in google. That's the software you want.

2 - Have you deleted or saved the answer phone message? You will need to do this before the icon disappears

3 a - enter *#0000# - this displays the version on the top line - my 2 week old N73 is v 2.0628.0.0.3 - this is the latest version for an Orange N73

3b - Unless you want to make your phone & orange warrenty invalid - don't do it.... Changing the code, running Nokia update - it will remove ALL orange settings and branding - Orange won't support your phone if you ever have a future problem with it.
