Hay guys,

I updated my N80 just as the Nokia site tells you to and everything went OK except that I get system error on the phone when I try to synchronise through PC suite. Any ideas?

Dave

ya that happened to me too

i cant connect to pc suite even though the cable is connected, it says my phone isnt there

what do i do?

thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that. I even installed the latest version of PC Suite but no luck. Phone just says system error.

Did you format the phone memory with *#7370#

This usually cures most problems after a FW upgrade

I can confirm dez_borders solution; I had a similar problem after I upgraded the firmware. Formatting the memory should cure the problem.

if i format the phone memory do i lose everything?

and just to let you know i can sync with my desktop still but not my laptop and it was after i got the update for pc suite that it stopped working on my laptop, it just didnt show my phone when i plugged it in, i have not yet done the update on my desktop and it still works:con?

it seems weird that it will work on 1 pc and not the other

You would lose all contacts, connection settings, calendar entries, and apps stored in the phone's internal memory. Nothing would be deleted from the MiniSD Memory Card.

However, if PC Sync works ok on one PC and not on another the problem's not your phone.

Have you tried un-installing all Nokia Apps from the Laptop, rebooting then re-installing the latest version of PC Suite???

Dont forget the Nokia cable is really crap, I keep loosing connection so I just use blootooth now, its really slow but at least it works all the time..

my bluetooth isnt slow , i`ll admit the cables quicker but the bluetooth isnt as slow at my motorola`s.

really ?...my bluetooth is about 10 times slower than my cable...it takes ages to transfer music and video files..
