Applications lost over N73 — Nokia N71, Nokia N73 and Nokia N75

Hi,

I have a Nokia N73 and I had installed few applications on it.

Recently I inserted a different memory card from my friend into my phone to check an application (tomtom6) which was not working properly on it. It didn't work with my phone as well and then I removed tomtom6 from it by selecting its icon and selecting Remove from options menu. It removed it successfully.

But then when I inserted my own memory card which had totmtom6 installed on it earlier, it didn't show up in Applications. I tried to copy tomtom6 files again on the memory card, but still it is not showing up. In Application manager, it shows TomTom Navigator but says it is not installed. If I try to install it from there, it stops after some time saying unable to install.

I had msn installed on it earlier as well. It is also not showing. If I try to install it again through 3's website, the same message shows up (unable to install).

If I try this card on some other phone, it shows tomtom in applications and also the messanger. Probably the Remove instruction has removed something else as well.

Any ideas?

Same problem with my N73 (and N80). I don�t know yet, if is a phone issue or memory card issue. Some people here say that Sandisk Ultra cards work without that kind of fails... I don�t know. I go try, and advise you to do the same. At least I go to know, is is from the card or from the phones.

Thanks for replying, but I guess it is something with the phone. In my case, applications are not being shown over my phone, but when I use that card into some other phone (E61), they are shown there.

On my case, the card fails on N73 and N80... So I go try another card. If is the phone, you my try an firmware upgrade, just in case. If the problem still, is the phone, and nust be repaired on guarantee.

I have the perhaps the latest firmware (v.2.0628.0.0.1, 10-07-2006, RM-133) and the software updater says no update is vailable for this phone. May be I should get the phone checked by the Nokia people.

But it is strange it was working well initially and is not doing any more

Is not the last one - v 3.0638.0.0.1, but could be the last one for your phone, because is a network lock device:con? or the firmware is not available yet for your region. But is a good idea, go to Nokia Service, just in case...
