Please help a 7650 Noob!

13 replies · 2,481 views · Started 14 December 2002

I will be getting my 7650 next week (christmas), but first I would like to ask a few questions.

(1) what are some essential software picks?
(2) What is N7650?
(3) Are there any free apps to chat with users of msn? Or at least cheaper programs (The one I came across was $28, which is far too dear).
(4) Which is the best file manager?
(5) What do you need to be able to transfer the files from the PC to the mobile?

Any other comments are welcomed, and I will update my questions list as more become apparent.

Ok i forgot cam timer

EDIT: WHATS HAPPNING!!!! I keep attaching bounce! Argh! Im loosing it i tell ya! Here u go cam timer [PS u get bounce on the supplied CD, Very good game, also check out snails]

And as for sDoubler - Give that a miss unless you do need the space... As it wont be worth it to have 1.4mb free insteadd of 1.2 ... If you get down to 300k free then use it!

Another EDIT: I forgot to remove bounce 😮ops:

if your in the uk i'd recommend going to www.novatech.co.uk, i get alot of my stuff rom there. theyre doing a usb bluetooth adapter for under 30 pounds. i got one and theyre pretty good 😃

Im gonna have to get some sort of connectivity, oh the pain to my wallet.... 😞
lemmesee,
(1) what is cam timer for? Is it for taking/watching streaming video?
(2) If not, which software can I use for that?
(3) Do the video capabilities of the 7650 pale in comparison to the 3650? Or is it just a different codec or something that i could get via bluetooth or IR from a 3650 or off the net?
(4) What are some good freeware games?
(5) Im planning on getting GPRS: Can i get these programs through that?
(6) how many kb's do simple gprs actions take? With examples, please.

Its a timer delay app for the camera, small, usefull and adds functionality - Streaming Video... Hmm not yet mate! Wait for a year till we get stable devices that can do such

It doesnt exactly pale in comparison ... Well it almost does, but the 3650 is So HUGE - A fair size bigger than the 7650 WITH the keypad extended [also wider thicker and heavyer]

Snails, Camtimer, [the games u get with the supplied CD], Games mostly... and... Drum Role.... Bemused!!! The best ever!!! Controll winamp via bluetooth! Wow so cool!

Well A weeks surfing a few wap pages, checkin wots on TV takes about 600k... Looking thru a Pic gallery of about 30 pics is about 300k... DO not use it as a GPRS modem for your PC! Or else your bills be MASSIVE!!!

first get bluetooth

then bemused....one of the most useful apps ever

TipicME is a freeware jabber client which supports MSN, ICQ yahoo etc

wireless IRC is handy

sdoubler is the first app u should put on your phone. it is a seamless compresser which will effectively double the amount of memory your phone has

Just general surfing on net, mainly here on AAS & a little IRC got me
7,7Mb of GPRS in 3,5hours. 😃

Not quite - It free up about 15-25% Space ... And its not seemles... takes about 10 seconds to decompress and recompress apps when oppening and closing them... If you do find your short on space Then install it. Its not freeware

(1) How is the real one player? What formats can it play?

1 Hantro's video recorder can play mp4 files too. And I think Oplaya can play the rest of the ones Real Player can.

2 VideoMMS is only for Wind-operator customers. Hantro is the one from t-mobile
