Is there a way 3 make the light stay on longer

get a little app called torch or that Domi's excellent FExplorer.
Both turn backlight on until turned off.

I recommend Torch since it is good for lighting up dark places too, as it has the feature of clearing the screen from everything else.

I think he mean by when using the phone appls like... reading wap page or viewing some contact list the backlite will stay longer..

If you run Torch and put the program in the background, the light will stay on permanently, whatever you're doing with the application in the foreground.
