N73 - 3g connection symbol

hi guys, i just recieved my N73 with O2 on contract.

now i have an N80 on 3, and i know that when i connect to 3 services or the web, underneath the 3g signal a symbol appears (two arrows), and when i disconnect the symbol breaks into pieces then dissapears.

but on the N73, the broken symbol is there all the time, i've checked in connection manager but says 'no active connections'

is it supposed to be like this? just don't wanna be charged gprs charges by o2!

Yes it's supposed to be like this. Only when the two lines are joined are you connected. Another way of checking if you have an active GPRS connection is to just hold down the red (call disconnect) button and a prompt for closing down active connections should appear. Note, you will only see this if there is an active connection.

The reason you are seeing two broken lines as opposed to just the 3G symbol is that in your Settings--Connection--Packet Data - the setting is set to "When available" instead of "When needed".
