Coolest thing u ever done with ur N80?

22 replies · 5,194 views · Started 09 December 2006

I've recently put slingplayer mobile on my phone, so I suppose watching the match on sky while out will be quite impressive. I can also plug an s-video input into the slingbox so with a cctv camera at home I can keep an eye on things there while I am away as well.

For me, one of the coolest things is being able to listen to internet radio while out and about. Being able to listen to my favorite radio stations from my home country is something i always wanted to do, and now since i got the X-Series from Three, it's all become possible. Of course, I also use TomTom, Truphone, Skype, YahooGo, SmartMovie, they are all cool things, and that is why I simply love my N80IE.

In no particular order....

1. Wi-Fi
2. VOIP

Thanks, Cash. I might try it out for size. 😉

just been doing a little more reading, there are limited channels in this version, it looks like its designed to integrate into network packages for them to deliver music or tv etc...

My best experience with the N80 was downloading an mp3 from the internet with the web browser, and then playing it through my stereo 🙄

The order I actually use them in...

OGGPlay s60
VOIP (except it doesn't work with my own router right now...🙄 )
MSN Live Messenger
Orb
SCUMMVM

I had this problem but sorted it

I had to upgrade my router firmware then do a router reset and it sorted the problem,

But first try a router reset (dont forget to note your router settings because you will have to enter them again..if that doesnt work then check to see if there is a firmware update.

n1 cash, as always u got the good stuff 😉

ut

I was stuck in gatwick airport, signed up for a couple hours of internet access with cloud, and watched BBC1 😊...made the time fly by (no pun intended 😊)

I'm a bit concerned that the Installer warned that the app might request access to send SMS's. I've not seen it do it yet but if anyone notices thier phone bills going up let me know 😊

Ok I see it now,

I think this may be for when the app is used with a network and the network configures the extra channels etc, and they probably have an option within the app to send sms, maybe for online shopping or something like that ...

You know how crafty these networks can be ..

Sorry to go off topic, but did any of you see the GADGiTS review of next generation web mobile handsets in today's UK News Of The World?

"Nokia N95 - If you can wait until March you might be better off with the Nokia N95 - tagged as the phone that does everything, it will even have built-in sat-nav . . . but no keyboard".

What pratt wrote that article? They even reviewed another slider phone in the same column. Grrrr!
