Please help me! I have flashed my N80 to IE with phoenix, following all of the steps in the guid, but it failed and now the phone is useless. I have searched all over the web and the forums (including this one), but couldn't find a solution. I can't even find the DEAD FLASH button on phoenix. Could somebody please help me? I am desperate. And if you cannot tell me how to revive it, can you tell me where to take it and what to tell the salesman? Should I just say that it died suddenly or can I explain to him that I was trying to flash it? Thanks in advance, please reply ASAP!
N80 dead after flashing
Hi sorry to hear that your flashing failed, a few threads down there are instructions which explain how to flash the N80, if you read along there where a few persons that also bricked their mobile too, and also a link is provided to there solution and how it worked, I suppose you could take a chance, with regards to what to tell te salesman,i dont think telling them you tried to flash it would be great idea as it would void warranty immediately and charge you for the repairs. I would check the thread and try it out, good luck !

Did the flash fail at 100% or before?
If it reached 100%, you can try a hard reset.
1.Power off
2.Hold GREEN, 3 and *
3.Power on (still holding the three buttons)
4.Wait 30-60 seconds (still holding 3 buttons).
The above worked for me last week.
If you do tell the salesman you were flashing the FW, 0say you were using NSU, as owners are allowed to upgrade using that. Don't admit to using Phoenix.
I flashed mine okay last week & bricked my mates (phew). It got to 100% but failed. Didn't try the hard reset as my mate had already got Orange to send out a replacement. His phone however, would not show any signs of life at all (no white screen) so the dead flash guide that WPKenny described in another thread didn't work. So if I were you mate I would give your service provider a ring and tell them your phone won't switch on and arrange for a replacement to be sent out.
Hope this helps

I've no idea what circumstances the dead flash will work in. My phone was, as far as I could tell, completely dead. None of the buttons did a thing. No white screen or anything. It was as if I'd forgotten to put the battery in.
But when I plugged it into my computer after installing phoenix I got the usual windows "didunk!" noise you get when you attach a new device.
Had a similar dead flash experience but could revive the phone.
After an error during flashing the phone looked completely dead. None of the buttons did a thing, screen stayed black. When I plugged it into my computer I got the usual windows "didunk!" noise but any attempts to refash just resulted in "no phone detected" error messages.
I left the phone connected while searching through the forum for a solution and after 10-15 min there was a second "didunk!" noise and after that I was able to re-flash the phone.
Flashing failed again and I was able to use the same "plug-in and wait 15min" method for another 3 (!) times until the flashing succedded (on a different PC).
Hi,
I just have installed Nokia Software Updater for N80 Internet Edition.
I followed the instructions, The firmware version of my N80 were going to change from 4.0632.0.38 to 5.0719.0.2.
Almost at the end of the process, I had to take out the battery, then disconnect the usb cable, after that put the battery, turn on the phone and connect the usb cable.....
But, at this time.... the phone didnt start up....
I am really worry because even though I tried to charge the battery, the phone doesnt turn on any led.... Is now a dead phone....
Please help me with some advices..... where can i find this phoenix sw????... I must try something!!!!
