I installed internet radio and most of the stations stream ok. For those of who you have tried this, I noticed when streaming, my display screens the number of mb and price. The price increases as the mb increase. Does this charge my cingular account for streaming even though I have unlimted data plan.
Does anyone have any advice
S60 Internet Radio is it Free or What
Since you have an unlimited data plan, that should be only one data counter, nothing else.
What Internet Radio Program are you using for Cingular?
S60 Internet radio to go nokia's site
S60 Internet radio
Shoutcast

The word 'price' in this instance is something to do with difficulty of connection, I think. It's nothing to do with actual money!!
I read somewhare that the price given in this application is an estimate of how much it would cost if you did not have an unlimited data plan or are not using wifi. It has nothing to do with any cost associated to listening to the radio stations. I've used this application extensively for almost six months and have never been charged anything.

Has anybody else had problems using Internet Radio over GPRS / EDGE? I have no issues on WiFi networks, but I can't get it to work over Cellular networks -- I have a feeling the providers are blocking the ports.
Can anybody confirm or deny this?

It does work over GPRS with a Virgin Mobile UK PAYG SIM card. Well, kind of. The sound cuts every few seconds while it attempts to buffer some more data. Internet radios usually stream at 32kb/s at the very least and often at 64kb/s or more. GPRS max theorical transfer rate being 48kb/s (and a lot less in practice), it can not really cope with internet radio streaming. EDGE is faster so you might be able to listen to radios that stream with a very low bitrate but that probably wouldn't work that well either.
It does also work over 3G with an Orange UK 3G PAYG SIM card. Works better than GPRS obviously but it still cuts far too often in my experience.
That said, some operators do block many ports so whether it's gonna work or not really is a case-by-case affair. Unfortunately, operators generally do not provide a list of allowed and blocked ports so all you can do is try and see. At least you now know that it does defintely work over GPRS and 3G.
