i am getting fed up with my n73 now not accepting 2gb cards and bloody 3 ad services bar across the screen . when will the lastest fw be available for 3uk owners
where is n73 3 uk firmware
Dane Elec 2GB card worked in mine, SanDisk didn't
I've got a generic 2GB card working absolutely fine on my N73. It was purchased from http://www.mobymemory.com
As for UK specific firmware, that is down to 3 & Nokia providing updates. It would ultimately be a decision by 3 to release this. The best way to overcome this is to amend your phone's product code to a generic version then update the firmware. I have successfully upgraded my previously Orange branded N73 to the Music Edition by using Nemesis Service Suite to change the product code to the EURO1 (which includes the UK) version, then used NSU to acquire the latest firmware. This not only gives the brilliant new latest firmware with all the decent bugfixes and new MP3 player, but also gets rid of the Orange branding and crappy menu structure.
Do a search for Upgrading Firmware and you should find all you need to know.
Wirelessly posted (Nokia 6680: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)
Is the risk of updating the product code worth the risk of losing your warranty?

Yes it is, when you do the upgrade properly and get all the benefits 😊
Ok. I think I'm going to do it. One thing though, if I do turn my phone into a 150g paperweight, will a Nokia service Centre still fix it, even for a fee?

Quite probably, although a user here bricked his N73, called his network provider and told them it had just died, and they sent him a new phone 😊

And it just showed up, less than 24 hours later! Cheers Orange!

Excellent 😊
Is there a requirement to send the old one back ? If so, I wonder if there would be any comeback if they can prove it has been "tampered" with ?

Yes, they want the old one back, I'll have to wait and see if the techies notice what happened...
While we are on the subject, can someone give a ME product code that they have used successfuly?
Thanks.

0537289 is the one I used 😊
I phoned 3uk about this and had a real rant. They claim, bizarrely, that v2 is the latest version and is best for the current phone. What? What a pile of poo! My phone is crashing all the time. Surely that is an issue and not the phone working at it's best?
The dude was adamant though. Technical department my arse. They are useless! Argh, it's so frustrating!
