Hey Guys,
Last Friday I used the Nokia Software Updater to update the Firmware on my N80. And since then it will not recieve SMS's. I can send them OK, and make and recieve phone calls.
I have not tried to send an MMS message, but I have tried browsing the web, and it fails with the error "Connection not available".
Any ideas on what has gone wrong on the N80? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Gerald
I would try inserting the sim card in another phone and sending a message to it. If it can receive it, then you would know it's the phone.
hey dunarea,
yeah, i've tried that, and it works fine. it was an old 6310i though, and i only tried text and phone, but they both work fine. i might find a later generation phone and try web as well to see if it works...
cheers

Try a factory reset (i can't remember the code, but you should find it in one of the forums here), it could sort your problem. I found out that sometimes even a phone restart clears problems ( i could not connect to my voip client, although all settings were ok, after i restarted the phone it connected straight away)

Go to Messages -> Options -> Text Mesages
and check that the Message Centre number is correct. If it's blank, try your SIM card in another phone and check the number again. If still no luck, try calling your Network and ask them what the Message Centre number should be.
P.S. I am on T-Mobile and after FW upgrades the message centre is set to SIM MESSAGE CENTRE, which works fine.
