Will a unlocked E61 work on cingular network if I simply remove my sim card from E62 and put in in the unlocked E61

Yes, I have two friends with an E61 and that's all they did and I have an E60 and did the same (all of us are with Cingular). Just put the SIM card in the E61 and you'll be making phone calls in lrss than a minute.

It will work. But you might have slightly worse coverage than on E62. The thing is in US GSM uses 2 bands - 850 and 1900 and E61 only has 1900. So, if you are within a cell tower that uses 850 you have bad luck. The issue is less pronounced on T-mobile as they use exclusively 1900.

That last poster doesn't know what he's saying -- the E61 is a QUAD Band Phone.

I have AT&T (cingular) and I have better receiption with my E61 over the last two weeks then I ever had with my Nokia 3360 that I used for 3.5 years.

The Nokia E61 will work on 850 or 900 or 1900 band in addition to one other band, which I don't recall...

Basically the phone works anywhere in the world that digital service is provided.... and for everywhere else there's WiFi 😉
