Hi all, im having real trouble installing pheonix, as im trying as hard as i can to be very very quick on opening the dongle crack exe when prompted Retry on Pheonix, Please can anybody give me advice or is there any other programme or software out there instead of Pheonix?
Hope somebody can help me soon...im using xp and p-c only a year old !!

Hi, thankyou for replying so quickly, its the diego dongle with crack etc...ive also tried the link further down the page but the links are broken, ie the post that says upgrade firmware, "easier than pheonix"
I cant wait to get rid of the orange firmware to the latest generic, and hopefully will be upgraded to n80 i

Hi, so can you tell me what i have to do, i dont quite understand what your telling me what to do,

this is what I did:
opened the dongle crack
changed the default installation path from c:\\windows\system32 to c:\\WINNT\system32
launched phoenix
waited for the "retry" message then launched the dongle installer
thats all
the only difference from what is written in the instructions and what I did is changing the dongle crack default directory.
The dongle crack should write 3 files in the "system32" directory of your system: WINDOWS in case of XP and WINNT in case of win2000.
These three files are written by phoenix and must quickly be replaced by those of the dongle crack.
I hope to have explained well my case but sorry I'm not english so my writing is poor !
Hi, ive tried all that and think may be im doing it wrong, is there any chance you would be able to post any pictures of where you are changing the default folder, im a bit confused on that, and blimey im only stuck on the crack dongle !!

Brian i seem to remember that you flashed to v4 a while back so you must have managed to install the dongle crack then. You must double click the crack file so it's open & position it on your screen maybe in the bottom right corner. Then start phoenix install. Position the retry box above the dongle crack, hit retry & then hit the install button on the crack & it should work. You do have to be quick though.

Hi and yes your exactly rite, i did install v4 before, and cant understand why its not letting me do the crack file this time !! i have the box open on , and position the retry directly above the exe for the crack, i click almost immediately and after 3 seconds i get the error message again !! ive tried everything and cant understand why i cant do it this time, as i done it in the past i dont want to go to the nokia service center as confident i can do it again, but still dont no whats going on, ive also tried the other link down the page ie- from nokia direct but the 3 file links are boken, can you help me any further?

Hi , thankyou for your very quick response, may be im using the wrong dongle as mine is named "diego dongle with the crack inside it, i followed the instructions and thought it was the same as last one i used, have you got a link to the Dongle you are using? i will try that,
Also further up this page i was just trying to read the other persons help as he said something about changing the default registry to winnt system 32, but i dont understand how and where to do that,
So i will await your link for the Dongle you are using if ok with you,
im sure i will eventually do it, only because ive bought a new orange n80 and want to change again to the generic, also will the new firmware change my phone to an N80i ?

Hum, the diego Dongle crack, is for the Diego application. I didn't even used it to flash my phone.

The Phoenix crack is in the Diego_dongle_crack_phoenix_crack_reaper directory and the file name is just "Dongle".
I had also a branded N80. First I've flashed to unbranded using NSS and NSU, then I've flashed to IE using Phoenix. The IE firmware is not yet available through NSU...in fact it is not an update.

Hi, i cant seem to find the root of this problem, i deleted the original diego-pheonix-reaper-crack and am awaiting to download a new one, also i have just installed winzip 11 from winzip 10 and now its not showing the crack folder!! Blimey where am i going wrong? this was easy last time and im following the instructions again to.

Im getting an error message saying please put in password regarding the above,whats the password? just cant understand why more dificult this time, oh and also have reinstalled WinRar...so that should help.

Hi, ive started again and am at the stage of doing the crack again, when i get the retry button again, ive tried clicking immediately on Pheonix.exe within the crack folder, and also have tried clicking on the Dongle.exe file within Diego_dongle_crack_reaper.rar and still no joy, so where am i going wrong now?

Brian you are using the wrong crack mate. You're using the phoenix Service 2006 Cracked when you should be using Phoenix Dongle Crack which is a little program that self inserts the crack at the right time of the install. i think you're trying to hit the phoenix.exe within the phoenix Service 2006 Cracked folder which needs to be copied at the end of the install. do you have SKYPE on you're computer ? if so i'll call you and talk you through it.
Hi yes i am clicking on phoenix.exe within the crack folder, and wow thats kind of you to ring me, but i havnt got skype, not yet anyway !! lol, is there any other way of explaining or sending me a picture of the file im supposed to be clicking on after ive clicked "retry" im going out in a bit but will be back by 8-30pm and lets hope i can sort out later as want to get it done by 9am in the morning, ie will be taking to nsc for them to do it, this is strange as i done it a few months ago,

Hi all, just to say many many thanx for all your help and support, i now have my Dead N80 Orange phone upgraded to the Nokia Generic, i took somebodys advice and took it to the nsc at salisbury, incase anybody was interested, and they are the only nsc in dorset/hampshire with a jig !!! so they was able to revive the dead phone and also put the Generic version in, hey i just hope its the latest !!!, lol, it should be.
Basiccally i told them i tried to upgrade the firmware and it got to 90% then stopped, bet they thought we got a rite one here !!, but i dont care all done now so going to put tom tom on now,
