USB media player
You should be able to synchronize the music on your phone with your windows media player. Mine works but only when i connect it on Mass Storage mode, otherwise the Media Player does not see my phone.
exactly, i can sync with mass storage mode, so whats it all about!?! when i select it it seams to want to install more drivers (but fails, probs because i havnt upgraded pc suite for a while)
i don't know, i'm not using Windows media player, i just copy the music straight onto phone, but i just tried to see how it works.
You can set the N80 up as a "Portable Media Device" using this mode within Windows Media Player.
You need a particular version of WMP, and (if memory serves) a driver. Both can be found within the forum I think.
I did set it up ages ago but since I don't use WMP I've never paid much attention to it. I also fiddled around with a couple of methods of syncing iTunes with the phone but gave up as there didn't seem much point. Might have another go when I have a phone that can hold more than 30gb of music..😃
I would have sworn if I try to use the Mass Storage sync profile my v3 N80 would freeze, I have yet to try it in v4.
The Media mode needs drivers (I have media player 11 but you need v9 or 10) and lets WMP see the phone as a media device (like mp3 player) so you can drag and drop your music and playlists (funny cos wmp11 playlists dont work with the n80 mp3 player).
with V3 FW my phone would crash and reboot if i put it in mass storage
i do not have that issue with v4 FW
my only problem is the pop port releasing the USB cable if i bump it
