Call button problems after update to IE

Im having a strange problem with the green call button after recently doing the update to internet edition.

If i dial a number and press green, the number will dial as normal.
However if I go to the recent call list, or address book and select a contact, i get the usual menu of choosing a number to dial, and when i press select or the green button, it just exits back to the menu.
It sometimes works and calls, other times i just exits back to the menu.

Even if i get the menu where it says "type of call"... voice, video, internet etc... the other options works but the voice one just exits back to the menu. Really annoying as its random as to when it does this.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Anand,

Are your numbers stored in the phonebook as International Format? e.g. +44

If so, is there a space characher between the +44 and the next digit? (Microsoft Outlook sometimes adds a space).

Remove the space character from any numbers in the phonebook.

I don't know if this is the cause of your problem but it has caused me similar problems in the past....

I removed all the SIP profiles and Internet Tel. profiles, and this cured the problem. Just need to work out what was causing it now.

Ok..... Spoke way too soon. Problem has come back again. Seems that after a phone restart, it works fine for a bit of time and then starts to occur.

Me and a friend have both had issues with out red/green buttons not working. I've reset and formattted my phone, and formatted the memory card and it seems OK so far (although I've not set up SIP).

Also we've both had a problem where the phone doesn't alert you to SMS messages. No popup saying "1 New Message", no symbol in the corner of the screen, no symbol on the screensaver and no star on the Inbox icon. Although they are there when you go in to the inbox.

I'll be updating this firmware as soon as another is released. If I could, I would downgrade....

I think this problem is def a SIP of internet call settings problem -

i upgraded my N80 to the N80IE successfully, and have been using it fine for a few days - after using the wireless for a while this morning trying to set up fring and Gizmo, i noticed that the call and hangup (red/green) buttons no longer did anything, i don't know if this was as a result of the upgrade or not - so i switched the phone off and on again to reset it, now it doesn't turn on again - it just says nokia on the screen and does nothing - the backlight comes on if you push any buttons but nothing happens - this was after i set up SIP and internet telephone this morning

I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, and starting it in safe mode - neither works, anyone experienced this or has any suggestions urgently??? i'm a bit worried!!
