startup error

hi i have had my 3230 for 18 months and it has usually been pretty trust worthy. A couple of days ago it turned itself off and when i tried to turn it back on it said startup error and said to contact phone provider. After another couple of tries it then brought up the nokia logo which then fades away and turns off.

i tried to charge it and the charge symbol didnt come up at all it just did the nokia screen and faded off again.

is there any way that i can get this repaired and keep the stuff i have saved on the phone? i have heaps of important draft messages, voice recorded things i hadnt moved over to the memory card yet and contacts that i cant afford to lose.

the stuff on the phone is that important to me that i wouldnt even bother getting the phone fixed if i was definately going to lose it, i would wait to try and find a way to get to keep it all

any advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Try a cleaning process first. Remove the battery, and clean contacts. Do the same with SIM and card. See if it works. The other way I remember, is format, but that way, you lose all inside.

I'm afraid you can't do anything to recover your data. Every time you store somethins on the phone's memory, remember to do a backup. It takes just 2 minutes and it saves you from situations like this. Your phone needs a hard reset.
