N91--Calendar alarms do not work after firmware update

Hi All,

I have an N91 that was purchased for me in June 2006 here in the US (Chicago to be exact). I love this phone; however just last week I downloaded the firmware from Nokia's website and now my calendar alarms do not ring. I do not use Outlook to sync my calendar items. Please let me know if you need more information. I'd appreciate any help.

Also, when I contacted Nokia, the operator said that my phonw was not manufactured in the US, so that could be the cause. Hmmm???

Actually, the tones I used are not mp3. I've tried aac and mid and for some reason it still does not work. Just now I set the alarm using an mp3 and that didn't even work.

Either way, the alarm does not even ring or light up or anything. Not sure why but I depend on that alarm daily.

I just tried it and it works fine. Note however that it seems the way the tone is played is linked to the PROFILE you have active. If lets say you have chosen meeting profile where the Ringing type is set to "single beep" instead of rining the calander alarm never plays the song. It needs to be set to ringing.

I suggets looking at the various profile settings

The profile is set to general and all the sounds are on: warning tones, etc. I'm not sure what is going on. The phone doesn't even flash or anything. Do you think a reset will help? How about if I back up the phone with PC Suite, do a reset, and then try again. Your thoughts? Thanks.

I have experienced the same problem, however I believe it to be a date related problem. I upgraded my phone software about 4 or 5 days ago because I thought it would fix the same calendar alarm problem.

The problem started from 1 Jan '07, so after the phone upgrade failed to fix it, i tested various dates: I changed the actual time in the phone back to 2006, set an alarm, it went beep as expected. Set the phone time to 10 Jan '08, set another calendar alarm, it went beep. Tried several 2007 alarms in January and February and the calendar alarm failed again.

Can't say i'm gonna enjoy waiting a year for this problem to come right again - does Nokia know about this problem?

How can I email Nokia directly to their software faults department, I ca't find anything useful for this purpose on any of their sites.
