Need a bit of help or advice please 😞 I have had my 9500 for just over a year, infact its like a few days over a year so only just out of guarentree. The f/w version is 05.22(01). Anyway, today, went to open the phone and was presented with a strange problem. Everything on the screen had shifted to the right by a bit. It still functions normally and all button presses work. I have tried rebooting loads of times but still nothing. This is what it looks like (even when rebooting the NOKIA logo and the hands logo are shifted as well)...
Its VERY annoying to say the least. The last time I used the inside of the phone before this happened was probably about 3/4 hours. At that time it was fine, one car journey later and this. It wasnt dropped, it wasnt subject to any strong magnets that I am aware of or anything out of the ordinary, I always take good care of my electronic kit. It has shifted back to normal ONCE this evening but then when I came to use the inside again it had shifted AGAIN to the side.
So, does anyone have any suggestions or fixes?? Its really annoying and just before christmas is a real pain. Im guessing its a software error or some file has got corrupted. Can anyone suggest anything please??

I would guess the first thing to do is do a backup! then i guess try a re-format. You can google to find out how.
The next thing to try would be a firmware- reflash if this does not work, then its a hardware failure 😞
By the way, a newer firmware version came out recently, so re-flashing is worth doing soon anyway.
If the Nokia logo and hands are shifted as well, Then to me it would sound like more of a hardware problem,

If it's something a firmware upgrade or re-format does not fix then yes, probably hardware.
But where the whole screen is shifted, could be something as simple to fix as replacing the screen ribbon cable. It looks like it may be a missing or futzed address line to the display or something like that.

It has the habbit of going back to normal every now and again AND if i very very slowly open the the phone up from its closed posistion the screen sometimes flickers away and the image on the screen becomes corrupted and garbled. However, the backlight stays on and the front screen hasnt been affected at all nor has the audio, I just hope it stays that way until after christmas.
Rang Nokia who say it has 24 month warranty so Im only just a year into the warranty so that was a nice (if you can call this situation nice) suprise!
So, along to my Nokia service point seems to be whats happening for me after christmas!! Just hope its ok until then, if not i will have to dust off my 9210i which is still a great phone but not quite so wonderful after getting used to the 9500 😞
