formatting device and memory card

for lack of anything else to do, can i treat my 9210 like my big pc and format the device and the memory card totally erasing everything then reinstall the supposed preinstalled applications from the cd that came with the 9210 package? someone told me i have to go to a service center to do that but i said it can be done personally coz i have the cd anyway...any comments?

You totally can. I got my 9210 back after upgrading the firmware today 4.13(6) and I was totally unhappy with the install they had done at the service center.

So I downloaded the software from Forum Nokia (for the 4.13 firmware), formatted both device and MMC (It took ages for my 64Mb MMC) and finally did an install.

Works like a charm!

To format your MMC go to File Manager and go to MMC and choose "format"...

To format the device, restart it, and when you see the image of the hands, press Shift+Ctrl+F (in this order). Then choose "format".

Regards!

My suggestion ???

Like for... NIKE, Just Do it !!! (Nike is the sportswear company for the ones who do not know...)

The best thing i ever did to my 9210 was a total personal format. I seems that Nokia centers do not give a sh.. how they install new frimware...

As mentioned on some earlier topics, the best thing that I did was to totally format 9210 and MMC, than reinstalling all apps & progs the way I wanted... This gave a perfect stability to my 9210, and helped me deciding in keeping my version...

Yes I STILL HAVE version 3.54 on my 9210 and very happy about it...

So, if yu want to totally format it... Like NIKE, Just do it !!!!

Breast regards & Filakia
