I've recently moved over from HTc tytn, that i had swapped by voda 3 times due to quality issues & performance, and i can say that I am really pleased with my N73 but......................... when i take a picture the picture i see through the viewer is all white, ocassionally with a blue hue, and then when i actaully take the pic the colours are very dark and very pales walls for example become very yellow, any ideas why?

...and have a play around with the settings of the camera. There are different settings for different lighting situations.
Usual is a Blue tone, not a yellow tone. Is with mine and as far I read, with others. Maybe is a question of make adjustments for your case.
i've read the taking pictures tutorials, but i dont think they really cover my problem, what i noticed today was that if i use the multipicture taking option, i can get 1)pic very yellow 2)which seems to be the correct colour; see below.
i havent changed any setting between each shot and the camera was kept on a table very steady, any idea whats going on?
that is so weird! have you done the firmware upgrade?
Did the flash work on both photos?
I have blue photos on my N71 which is caused by the flash and been close to something.
The color and light metering on interior photos is not very accurate on N73 (and on other phones) and it occurs. Some times the photos sort yellow. Go to Picasa and made the correction.
yes it flashed on all four pictures that were taken using the sequence mode , 2 came out with the correct colours being captures, 2 came out very yellow.
If i use single picture shot, the picture always comes out yellow, it seems using sequence mode is the only way i can get a at least one proper picture taken.
I have the latest ME version software, is my hardware faulty?
Ok, I just took 5 pictures of the same scene here in my studio at home with my N73 running the Music Edition firmware. All pictures are taken on full Auto settings, including flash and the only differences are the White Balance settings as this is where I think your problem lies.

Automatic
Fluorescent
Incandescent
Sunny
Cloudy
Each of these settings seems to work perfectly, with the Automatic performing very well. The light in this room is an energy saving fluorescent bulb and the fluorescent setting reproduces the actual colours of the room most accurately, but the Auto setting is probably a better looking result. As expected, the outdoor settings of Cloudy & Sunny give an overly yellow compensation. Check that you have the Auto setting checked in White Balance or the correct type of light for the situation you are photographing. If you get this yellow tinge even when set on Fluo/Incan/Auto, then you may well have a defect. Try re-flashing maybe ?
cheers for taking those pics, it seems my phone does not function properly in auto mode for white balance, as my problems lie with interior shots on "light bulb" lighting.
I turned the white balance setting to incandescent, and thats seems to have fixed my yellow picture probs, I may flash it again and see if that fixes the probs i'm having with the auto function.
just one further question how can i flash it again to ME as i know that if i do an FW upgrade again it will tell me there is none available?

It will tell you there is no update available but it will also ask you if you wish to re-install the current firmware again.
