Tips for the 5500

5 replies · 2,226 views · Started 24 December 2006

For any new Nokia 5500 owners out there, I've put up a page of tips to get you started/thinking. I hope you find them useful. Oh, and Happy Christmas from me, too!

Read on in the full article.

I want to buy this phone, but! I'm seeing and reading a lot about the whole keypad peeling off issues. Interesting none of the reviews mention this. Already saw one keypad peeling off with a co-worker's 5500.

Apparently its a global issue, I hope Nokia fixes this soon!

My friend has had a 5500 for about four months now and there's no problems at all.

(And if there are any problems, they should be covered by the 2 year guarantee.)

Do you have any photos of this?

My collegue already had his 5500's cover replaced under warranty, I'd try to get a photo of my own if it happens again. I wouldn't have taken those discussions so seriously if I hadn't seen it myself.

Thanks for the URLs - all a little worrying. Let's hope these were early models and that newer 5500s don't have the same design defect. I'll certainly report back if mine starts to peel!

(remembers the days of 'peeling' Psions.... ah, nostalgia!)
