N80 memory used up problem

5 replies · 3,770 views · Started 27 December 2006

In the phone memory of my N80 internet edition, it says 40MB is Memory in use and 6506kb is free memory. However when I add the memory usage of calendar, contacts, messages, images, sound files, video clips, documents and applications, it all adds up to less than 40 MB (2.5MB only). What is using up all these memory and how can I fix it? :con?

Could it be installation files in the c:\ installation folder? you can delete these. you sure your installed as much as you can to the mem card, and not phone memory. I know 1 app (search) that freed up 5mb on its own when I re-installed it onto the memory card. I have pure apps and games on ,my N80 and still have 30mb free to run progs etc....Also I think N80 IE firmware uses a bit more memory...someone correct me if im wrong here:icon14:

After the last hard reset, I had about 40MB of memory free. I reinstalled all apps on the memory card and (some apps install on phone memory, you don't get the option to install on mem card) now i have about 30MB of phone memory free. I also noticed that even if i install to memory card, the program will still add something to the phone memory as well, although not as much as if i installed onto phone memory. But i don't think there is anything we can do about that.

Try Clearing the Cache in the Web App... 😉

P.S. Immediately after powering up an N80IE you shoudd have between 15-17Mb of RAM free.
