Can I update from N80 to N80ie using NSS?

Hi all.. I have just updated my N80 which didn't had my Spanish language, using NSS to change the code and running the Nokia Software Updater

It worked very fine, so now I have the Spanish language available and a few programs that didn't originally came with the phone: Antivirus, Adobe PDF, and QuickOffice.

So I wonder if is there any chance to update to Internet Edition just using an Internet Edition code, avoiding Phoenix.

I would like to know if anyone has done it so, before trying it myself and losing a phone which has no warranty in my country.

Sorry, but ANY program you use to change the product code or upgrade from N80 to N80IE will void your warranty.
To answer your question, Phoenix is probably the only relatively safe way to upgrade an N80 to N80IE. 😉

If you could use NSS to change the product code and upgrade via NSU we'd all be at it I think... I dont think N80ie is avaialable via NSU although I did see it on the website recently so maybe it could be on the way?

as it is, you run a risk with phoenix or sit with v4 N80 straight 😞

just done it today.

downloaded NSS, plugged in my orange n80 and changed the code to euro pb.

then went to NSU, updates were available and i chose the upgraded firmware.

now when i check the firmware code it is n80ie!!!!

works a treat loads more goodies, no orange crap on phone, try it!

which product code did you use to get the IE upgrade tanov?.

I belive the code people are using is 0544109 check out the last pages of the n80 to n80ie upgrage firmware guide thread

It seems to work with any N80ie code. Perhaps Nokia UK should get their act together and let all N80 owners have the internet edition upgrade without having to go down the NSS route!!!!!

What a hell is NSS...???
I live in Brazil, bought my phone down here but it was made in finland, does anyone know what code shoud I use..??

NSS is a program that lets you change your phone product code... on the sly.

The code you want tho, I have no idea... have a look at the thread here for a decent code for your zone.
