I have been having some fun with my P990i but keep getting annoyed that I can't transfer files or look at shared drives across the wireless network. The one feature I am really after would be the ability to see my phone from a PC across the WLAN and be able to drop files into a shared space and the other way round.
Has anyone attempted this or found a way to do this? Is there a piece of software with this function allready available?
I was thinking that if I can't find anything, I could write a small Java app that will connect a symbian phone (not just the p990i) to an predetermined IP address and open a preset shared drive to drop files in. As I am not wanting any kind of dynamic IP or shares I don't think this should be too much of a difficult prospect for a skilled Java programmer..... it's a shame I am not skilled then 😃
