What's the best programm 4 the N73 to make MP3 files smaller like 1,5 mb or maxim 3,0 mb but to have the same quality like the MP3 files?
N73- What's the best programm to make MP3 files smaller?
First of all, MP3 is a compressed file format where quality is always lost.
And if you have an MP3 file you want to make smaller, you will loose even more.
If you fear loss of quality, perhaps you could try AAC, AAC+, eAAC+32 or Ogg Vorbis file formats, and see which one gives the best size to quality ratio for your own ears (i.e. how far you can go while finding the sound still acceptable from your own point of view; other people's opinions do not count much with a subjective experience like how music sounds to you)?

I always use the Nokia Music Manager that is built in to PC Suite. I use the M4A conversion at the "Mobile Optimized" setting (48kbps). Sure, the quality isn't up to any audiophile's standards, but this is a "walkman" after all. It's good enough for me to listen whilst in the office or on the train 😊
I tried with nokia music manager...but when i drag a song on N73 it aske's me to convert the MP3 and after it remain's that way i dont know why...it doesnt convert

Check your conversion settings in NMM. It's all in the help file 😊

To make an mp3 smaller you lower the bitrate. Less bitrate = Less Quality. Like N/A said, other formats are better at lower bitrates. CD Quality mp3's are 320kbps. Personally I use 192kbps. I would use Ogg but there are too many products that use mp3 (e.g. car stereo).
You can use almost any player to lower the bitrate of an mp3. Winamp, iTunes, MusicMatch Jukebox, etc.. Most of which are free.
