Thank you!! This makes using "transcode" and "mencoder" in linux much, much, easier.
the problem is when i put h264 file on memory card phone freezes. What extension should i use? i tried .mp4 and .mov-all with same result
thanks

H.264 produced from Quicktime tends to be hard to play, use the ordinary MPEG-4 codec instead.
A small trick to get constand quality encoding is to first export to a Quicktime movie with mpeg-4 codec set to 50-60% quality and automatic bitrate.
Open the .mov and export it again but to a mpeg-4/3gp with the passthrough option on video and audio.
I recall that it might work if you wrap the h.264 into a 3gp container also.
Cheers.
