possible to unlock display unit?

We just cleaned out the drawers at the store where I work, and my manager gave me permission to take our display N-Gage QD and all of the games that we had for it in the store (a grand total of $0.48). However, it is very much a display unit, as stated on the wallpaper, and made evident through its inability to do anything other than play games.

It works fantastically, but I wouldn't mind keeping it as a backup phone. I attempted to try and find a Nokia service center in our area that still worked on the N-Gage QD... but nobody in the DFW area does, it seems. Trying to figure out a serial no. for the Nokia site was interesting also, considering it's made up of almost all zeroes, and has a "PROTO" stamp at the bottom of the serial no. label.

If I need to, I'll just swallow my pride and call Nokia tomorrow and ask (a very stupid) question, but I thought I'd try online first... Is there a way for me to unlock this display unit? I tried the #7307#/#7807# trick, but it wouldn't do it without finding a network first. Is there anything else I can try?

There's nothing to "unlock".

The device would have to be flashed with a full firmware (phone software) version.

For the QD you'd need the cooperation of a Nokia authorized service/repair center, or use of relatively expensive flashing equipment + illegally distributed firmware files (cheaper to find and buy a working phone).
