V5 software on O2 N70s

Has anyone managed to get the latest firmware installed on an O2 N70 handset?

It's well known that O2 haven't approved any s/w above v3.03456.2.3 but certain Nokia centres will do it for you.

My local centre, Cygnet in Preston will do it but for 15 and say it will invalidate the phone's warranty. They say it clears the Tom Tom bluetooth dropping problem which is why I want an upgrade.

Is it possible to get it done for free or are they right to charge and inform me of the warranty violation?

On a secondary note WHY are O2 not approving firmware upgrades for the N70?

In the same situation here. I want the firmware upgrade to cure the bluetooth issue. I'm assuming that it alters O2's network settings somehow, hense they won't sanction the upgrade.....Pathetic situation if you ask me.
