IMHO your brother's decision is a smart one.

Limewire etc are riddled with spiked files containing malware - it's people like me who get paid a nice sum to clean the pc up (I've seen one machine with over 6,000 infections following use of a peer to peer application). Of course once it's infected you risk loss and / or compromise of personal (including financial) data. Peer to peer network use to download illegal content risks detection and prosecution, as well as possible action (eg lifetime ban) from your ISP as well.

You are unlikely to find a website hosting illegal movie downloads - because they're illegal and once it's hosted it's easy to find, sue and shut down those running the site. Any sites that are offering pirated movies for download are likely to be on the murky side of the web, which is more likely to give you a virus, trojan or similar than a genuine download

Personally I think it's easier to buy the DVD, given that prices for legitimate disks in high street stores (in the UK at least) start at �1.97 - I bought 5 movies last week and got change for �20.

Wise words and I somewhat agree with you. I prefer to purchase DVD's to get the cover so it looks good in my DVDcollection.

However reencoding DVD to 3gp, divx, or whatever takes a while. It's much more easy to download them of the web or some p2p network.

Ask your brother to install ubuntu for you on a pc armada741, then install FrostWire. You don't have to worry about getting any sort of virus or other things that will screw your pc up.

I agree with Taz too, and for the price of DVD's nowadays... may as well go buy them off tinternet.
