Has anyone opened a 9210?

18 replies · 4,435 views · Started 07 February 2002

Have any of you taken the cover off of your 9210, or found a site with photos where this has been done. I was wondering where the plastic clipped together for getting mine open, so I can get a look inside with a view to modding it. (I.E. see if there was an easy way to attach a vibrator)

Attaching a vibrator to your 9210 ???

Man yu must be a pervert to do that !!!

No, seriously, If yu lok at some previous topics on this matter, yu will find the necessary info about what yu want to do, meaning opening the 9210. I believe as well that there must be some pictures. So just check some earlier topics on this matter.

Good luck for your vibrator, and let us know if yu reached climax !!!

Breast regards & Filakia

Why the front side? ....(even there's no room in bottom side too)

front
Take label sticker off and those two screw.
start opening it from the end where those two screw was and pull it straight up... hmm.. damn it's hard to write clearly..

bottom
take off all rubber foots and card cover.. unscrew and done.. but please be carefull, that module below battery is hard to put back..

or just forget whole thing.. if you phone have still warranty User posted image

Isn't it illegal or something to open a 9210? Come on, can we not afford our little fellas some dignity!?

No, you just lose your warranty.. after all, you have paid for that and it's yours...but like i said, it's too risky if you dont know what you are doing..

Mine is second hand, so I'm not too sure where I stand on the warranty affair. Though it's got stratches up the side that look like I've opened it any way because it got caught on my keys User posted image

i think you should open your 9210. ive often wondered what makes the unit seem so much smarter than me, if u open yours, maybe you can give me an answer User posted image

I've managed to get the back off, but can't see anywhere to get a vibrator unit in. I can't get the front to retach though, onlt the bottom right corner comes off User posted image the rest seems to be caught on clips in th plasting that I can't pull off.

Like i said...

The front cover is tricky... just rip it like crazy.. there's clips in midle and top and you probably broke those..

JeP

I haven't broken it because I felt I was already using excessive force and getting nowhere. What's needed is an open one with the clips highlighted and how to get then to come open.

I haven't opened a 9210 just yet (it's still under warranty - I don't want to risk it!), but I have taken apart a 9110, and the front cover should be similar.

1. Remove the label, unscrew the two screws.

2. Slide a fingernail between the two parts of the cover, starting from the bottom end and work your way up.

3. Once the bottom and the sides are free, you can just lever the bottom of the upper half upwards, but be careful, I suspect these clips don't take well to abuse!

The clips ARE tight, and it takes a bit of work to get them free - so there's another reason not to trim your nails too short!

And as usual, if your 9210 dies as a result of these instructions, the fault lies within YOU User posted image

If at any time you think you're using too much force, give it up and reassemble!

I sort of opened the cover of my 9210, well I did accidently drive over it after I left it on the roof of my car and it fell down.

It was well and truly purely crushed, I had to take all the bits to Carphone Warehouse for Insurance purposes, so they could give me a new one!

Errr....drove over it you say? Ouch!

Good thing you had the insurance, eh?

I wonder what happens to all those broken 9210s....might be fun to get a few and salvage parts from them! User posted image

Curse my fetish for timming my nails well short, I'll have to grow them before tryign again......

And don't get any ideas about using a screwdriver - a friend of mine had a bad display on his 9210 and sent it back to the distributor to get it changed....those twits used a screwdriver to pry the case open and left very unsightly scars on the plastic.

Surprisingly, the service manual says very little about how to open it up....normally their manuals are quite thorough....

Look here (http//home.foni.net/~geohartmut/9210/communic/open.htm) for opening a 9210 Cover!

there was a moron at the mall yesterday who was running up the stairs and dropped his 92

so to answer the question, i guess the stairs opened up a 9210 $-)
