Major issues with tomtom 6 and N80

Hello

Ive been trying for ages to install tomtom 6 on my n80... I have been in data transfer mode and put all the folders onto the memory card.

However when i view the memory card the 'private' folder containing the tomtom start up installer. I can find it by doing a seatch then when i click it it opens fine. But then disaster strikes and it says 'update error'

I cant get rid of this, i have the lastest software version too.

Anyone have any ideas?

Please!

have you tried Tom Tom themselves?

the app works just dandy on my N80. Though i had to get the latest firmware t oresolve the constant disconections.

Have you tried copying the files across using a card reader rather than transfer mode?

If this is a less than legit version of tom tom 6 then you will need to activate the maps using a wee program from the usaual sources.

Where can i find one of these card readers?

What did u meant by tom tom themselves? Can you contact them directly to get help... bought the sat nav off ebay you see.

Just dont understand why it says update error, ive definetly got the lastest version etc..

Card readers can be picked up from most high street retailers even places like Argos in the uk sell them
ebuyer etc.

Tom tom have a section dedicated to helping people on their site. If the FAQ's cant help register on the site and send them an email.

Emailed tomtom hopefully they'll be able to help

Just cant figure out why it doesnt launch automatically, why it hides the private folder on my memory card, and now why it says 'update error'!

There is no update!!!

Whats tomtom home?

What im using is a dvd they gave me, it has these 8 folders which you transfer to your memory card. Then you can install it on the phone from there which the installer, but when i open the installer thats when i get my nice update error come up..

A program for installing TomTom Navigator 6, which is on the DVD and the website. I thought it was the first thing installed by the DVD! Just copying the files to the memory card will not work.

TomTom Home is for the PC (note the phone has to be in data transfer mode not PC suite mode). Have a look at the Installation Poster that came in the box with the DVD.
