N73 Doesn't Power On!

I recently purchased a NOKIA N73 unlocked two days ago, tried updating the FIRMWARE via the data cable yesterday using the NSU. In the middle of the installation, it says the update failed. Now my phone no longer powers on.

I tried removing the battery and putting it back in, tried hooking it up to the charger (nothing shows up), hooked it back up to the data cable and my computer detects it as a generic nokia device, but the update software fails to see it.

i know this problem has been mentioned before, but if anyone has found a solution on their own, i would really appreciate it.

i plan to contact the nokia service center, but it appears there are none by me within a 50 mile radius that is capable of fixing a nokia n73 (los angeles). that doesn't sound right at all though.

thanks

I'm afraid to tell you that your phone is "bricked"...
You have basically two options:
1. You can post the phone to the nearest service centre, with the problem description and contact details.
2. You can buy a Phoenix box, get the expensive software (for free 🙄 ) and perform a manual rewrite of the flash.

I suggest the first one.

Have you tried running NSU again ??

I ask this as I had a similar issue when I updated my 6680. I accidentally turned my PC off mid update, but when I tried running NSU again with the phone still connected, it found the phone and re-did the update successfully.
