I bought an E70 recently. This is my first experience with a Smartphone. I've signed up for Truphone and have used it a couple of times. But I'm having some problems. I have a Linksys wireless g router at home.
1. The phone loses its connection and I can't get it back without rebooting the phone. It happens always when I leave the vicinity of my router (naturally so, but I have to reboot to get the connection back when I return). It happens sometimes when I haven't left the area. It just drops the connection. Quite irritating for those folks who try to call me through Truphone and end up paying other long-distance cell phone rates unexpectedly (forwarded to my number via local carrier).
2. I can't get to Tools -> Settings -> Call. When I click on Call, it just returns to the Tools menu.
Check with NSU tool if it have a new firmware available.
Hi,
I have Truphone downloaded to my E70 but have not tested it out. Right now I use AQL more extensively . So far they both advantages and disadvantages:
AQL advantages:
a) it gives you an 0870 number which is cheaper for other people to call than the truphone mobile number
b) it automatically diverts to voicemail when you are not connected and sends the voice mail to your inbox. When it can't connect
c) itemized call list with call charges (necessary for business billing)
Truphone advantages:
a) much better and much nicer user interfaces
b) free calls to UK landlines and US until March 31st
c) 5 of free calls to other mobiles and long distance
I have had the dropped connection problem a few times too.
There are a few possibilities for your problem.
1. Check your firmware (*#0000#). If it is a 1.x firmware immediately update it through NSU or a Nokia Service center to 2.0618.07.10.
2. Change the SIP settings for the profile to Registration "Always on".
3. Look for problems with your router. Some do not work well with Nokias
I still have to reboot every other week or so.

Roger,
Funny thing is that I got exactly the same problem now that I have installed Truphone.
I think it is a firmware issue. When I had only AQL I just had one profile which I edited for each WiFi connection. Now that I have 4 profiles it doesn't work. Whichever service I am registered for when I leave the WiFi I am frozen out.
However I can switch to the other service and make and receive calls. I have to reboot to get the orginal service to register.
Maybe it will fix itself with 3.x
Regards,
Karl
