is it true that the picture quality on n73 is better than n93?
pic quality n73 vs n93
They both share the same Carl Zeiss Tessar lens and are both 3.2 Megapixel, but the N93 has a 3x optical zoom and better video capture than the N73.
In normal conditions, I'm guessing they both give pretty much the same quality 😊
N73
• CMOS sensor, 3.2 megapixel (2048x1536 pixels) with autofocus and digital zoom up to 20x
• Carl Zeiss Optics, Tessar™ lens
• Focal length 5.6 mm
• Focus range 10 cm ~ infinity
• Macro mode with 10 cm focus distance
• Mechanical shutter with 1/1000~2s shutter speed
N93
• Sensor: CMOS, 3.2 megapixel (2048x1536)
• Carl Zeiss Optics: Vario-Tessar lens
• Focal length 4.5 mm (Wide) /12.4 mm (Tele) 34.25 - 94.1 mm(35mm equiv.)
• Focus range 10 cm ~ infinity
• Macro focus distance 30 cm (macro @ Wide) 10 cm (macro @ Middle to Tele)
• Shutter speed: Mechanical shutter: 1/2400~1/3 s

Thanks for these specs!! Now I can show them off to my non n73 friends with crappy 1mp cameras 😃
The specs on their own tell you nothing about the phone; the most important thing is always the quality of the optics.
I've got an N73; I'm pretty sure that the Zeiss part is purely a branding excercise, which is something that Zeiss seems to be happy to do.
From the side-by-sides I've seen, the N73 does indeed have better quality optics though. Its fairly typical for a zoom lens to have more distortion of the image than a fixed focal length design, as the optics have to be compromised all the way through the zoom range .... unless you spend huge amounts of money on the optics.
It is kinda funny that the N93 shutter goes down to 1/2400th of a second though. I doubt the lens could get enough light in to make an exposure at that sort of speed.
