Brand new, freeware and created by Zensis and strangely not on their web site is Themes DIY, featured here over on Symbian Freak. This runs on S60 3rd Edition and allows theme creation on the smartphone itself. Comments welcome on how well it works.

Atlast something for the noobies to set themes as they want!!!
But as expected , due to being an " Onbourd" software, it does sports some limitations -
1. Cannot change the Icons than the Default Nokia icons.
2. Cannot create your own templates.
3. Cannot choose different Background Image for the Menu Screen.
4. Cannot change font colours.
But i love it, now i can choose my own full screen wallpapers!!!!!!
A friend of mine who bought a Symbian recently now does nothing but download themes for it, she must have literally hundreds of them on her PC. I think a lot of S60 owners would go nuts if they could edit themes on the phone, a theme editor is really something that ought to be built into every S60.
The early Macintosh computers and Windows PCs had the equivalent of theme editors built into their OS twenty years ago. What does Nokia find so difficult about doing the same thing for S60 smartphones that are technically far more capable?
This has bugged me on non-smart feature phones too, you often can't use particular wallpapers for the standby screen because they make some of the menu texts disappear. Something as simple as a font colour editor would let you use any wallpaper you wanted.
I'm using themediy, it's really helpfull.
yeah, we cant change font color. how about tying change the tekscolor.dat file?
Please note we have been contacted by Zensis who say that this software is not freeware. We'll get you more information as and when we can.
