SMS Problems

hey,

i have a P990i on Orange (UK). recently i have been having quite a strange problem. i am failing to recieve any sms messages, but when i turn the phone off and on again they all come flooding in at once. is this a common problem with the handset?

also, a while ago i wasn't able to make ANY calls whatsoever, not even to my voicemail or customer services. i have contacted them numerous times but they keep telling me they 'cant be sure there is a fault with the handset' and i keep getting fobbed off say they're emailing technical support and will get back to me, which they of course never do.

any ideas? either a way to solve the problem with the phone itself or a better way to deal with Orange?

i think my firmware is upto date, here is the information anyway:

Phone: CXC 162037 R7A001
Bluetooth: CXC162058 R4F01
Organizer: CXC162036 R3B01
CDA: CDA162008/16 R3A02

cheers!

Simon,
Your not alone, I had the same sms problem this weekend and I'm on Vodafone. Messaging still seems to have a few bugs in it (bluetoothing big files always seems to cause me a problem that needs a restart). Hopefully when the networks finally get round to giving us the latest firmware these problems will be eased.
