N80 Memory Backup Install Problem

Hi guys. I have a problem for you to scratch your heads over.

I updated my N80 with the Nokia Update software, did all the relevant backups to the memory card before hand, and restored it after.

However whenever I insert my memory card, or restart the phone now, the phone starts displaying an 'installing' message for about 30seconds, before failing with the message "Unable to complete installation... try reinstalling from the applications manager" - it disappears after about 5second and it's a long message but you get the gist of it.

When I go to the applications manager it now has a list on there of previously installed themes which I removed months ago, they are listed as 'Not installed'. I can't install them because I don't have the installation files any longer, and I can't seem to delete them from the list.

I'll provide screen shots if anyone asks.

Presumably I need to remove the remnants of these files from my memory card somehow, but I cant seem to find them.

Any help is truly appreciated.

I had this problem, and the only way I could fix it was to format the mem card, hard reset my phone and then re-install all my apps and games, only took me a few minutes and it helped to clear the mem card of all the other crappy apps that I have tried and didnt like.

As long as you have a copy of your contacts on your PC then I dont think its too much hard work.

heheh, boo! That's the boring way, I was hoping for a little hack or something

I suppose I know how to recover after my firmware upgrade. Ill do some more digging first though.

How comes you've had all these problems already Cash, your either really unlucky, or really lucky 🙄

Cheers tho
