hey guys(and gals)

has anyone here got experience of flashing the N80IE EMEA firmware to a N80 with a product code of: 0535063 which is a UK O2 branded phone which is unlocked and currently using firmware

Nokia N80 (33.01)

off the official Nokia NSU program i did a forum search on this but it didnt come up with anything. So if anyone had or got a phone with this specific code and firmware that they flashed to the IE edition firmware i would be very appreciative if you could tell me how it turned out and what IE firmware u used (e.g. Generic or a Branded one). Also what product code you changed the phone to for the upgrade.

also ealier someone sayed in the N80 to N80-IE thread that its now officially available from nokia but didnt post any proof. Can anyone substanciate this claim? i tryed NSU and FOTA but it didnt offer any sign of it.

thanks very much everyone

Your link is to the US web site. It may be true over there but at the moment it is not available in the UK. It seems that UK Nokia are trying to delay giving it as a free NSU update in the hope that people will buy the N80ie and so line their pockets even more!!!!

I understand that dave, but as this is a global website, and somebody asked for proof that Nokia have implemented this I thought I would post some sort of proof.😊

It may be possible to change the product code to an US N80 and then upgrade to the N80ie that way with NSU

Thought about that but have tried various product codes without any joy. The other problem with that is that I am not sure what software etc. is on the US N80ie compared to UK or even if you would still be able to choose say London as your location and UK english for your spell check. I do not want to be stuck with color!! or "missing you already" much as I like the country!

Just wandered over from the MR forums & I was told it should work. But I am in the same boat as you as I have an O2 N80 with the same firmware so it's good to hear it's not just me that cannot get it to work. Is it easy to change the product code to fool NSU so it can be updated?
