I used to able to enter the contact by holding on a number key on my sony ericsson. For example, if I hold on to 5, then it will go to the contact list starting by letter j.
Do any of you know if there is such a software for Nokia on N80?

Depends where you are when you hold down the key.
In the idel screen this will activate speed dials.
If in contacts you can start writing the contact name and an automatically narrowing search starts (although this will get everything with a J in it).
