Been using Opera Mini with no problems at all on my N70 on O2.
Then last week it refused to connect point blank.
Came up with some error message and I should see operamini.com for connection settings.
Profimail is working fine, O2 in-built web browser is working fine so I know my access points are fine.
So I reinstalled OperaMini (a later version I noticed, due to the set up process) but yet again it fails to connect as part of set up and refers me to the help pages of operamini.com
I installed Opera Mobile v.8.65, the latest version and got the same sort of problems.
Anybody else having Opera problems on O2 or generally?
My firmware (of course, being on o2) is only v3.xxx.
TIA.
Chris
Hi sandiforD 😉
I recommend you to use Opera 8.60 instead of 8.65 which is really buggy. My N70 froze allmost all the times I wanted to go on the net. Isn't there a new firmware for O2?
Sounds more like the OS is just thoroughly confused, with the number of net-aware apps loaded!
Although you probably haven't got a malware problem, I recommend gonig through my clean up steps ( http://3lib.ukonline.co.uk/viruscleanup.htm ) anyway, followed by installing the new v3 Opera Mini. Let us know if that doesn't get you up and working!

It's working now.
Opera settings allow you to specify an access point which Opera mini doesn't (Well it might in v3 but I never get that far as it fails its setup routine!)
So I specified a point and allowed it to use default and it connects fine now.
I may try 8.60 though cos it does freeze occasionally - can't find it though, all sites have the 8.65 upgrade

Unless you know different, O2 are still refusing to certify the new 5.xxx software and we're stuck with the TomTom-killing v3.xxx

I only ever had OperaMini installed (besides the inbuilt O2 browser) so the phone couldn't have been confused. One day it just stopped connecting so I ventured into full Opera testing.
I still have the 8.60, but it's too big to be uploaded on the forum. I can send it to you via email, or any other solution you propose. You can still wait for a new release, though 😃
EDIT: forget about email, here's the link to version 8.60
