I've searched this and other forums but haven't come across anyone else having this same problem. If I create anew task/calendar appt, it syncs fine, alarm and everything. However if I edit the reminder settings in outlook (say postpone the reminder to a later date), the change does not reflect on my phone although the sync report shows that the entry has been updated on the phone. The phone still shows the earlier alarm/reminder time and date.
